The Beaufort Outreach Initiative
Beaufort Group Consulting is committed to partnering with global charitable foundations to provide safer and brighter futures for young girls and women living in disadvantaged communities.
“… as women, we must stand up for ourselves … we must stand up for each other … and we must stand up for justice for all.”
Michelle Obama’s powerful statement at the 2009 State Department Women of Courage Awards has always resonated with us. We too believe in proper health care, education and justice for all women living in marginalised communities, whether rural Sub Sahara Africa or impoverished urban areas.
Beaufort Outreach reflects our very personal desire to provide practical support to NGOs who specifically focus on the health, well-being and education of young girls and women.
While we ourselves cannot work in the field, we are delighted to support those who do. Our pro bono support ranges from tailored executive coaching for CEOs, to providing fieldworkers with life coaching and change management support.
We are honoured to partner with Maternity Foundation; a Danish development organisation that aims to reduce maternal and newborn mortality in developing countries, whose pioneering work has been recognised by the Gates Foundation, the WHO and the UN. Every year, 303,000 women die from complications in pregnancy or childbirth, 2.7 million babies die during the first 28 days of life and 2.6 million stillbirths occur. The majority of these deaths are preventable.
With the vision ‘No woman should die giving life’, Maternity Foundation works to empower and mobilise women to seek care, to train and strengthen the competencies of health practitioners, so that more women give birth with skilled birth attendance.
